London-based music label Apron Records has unveiled its upcoming collaboration with Nike on the Air 180.
First looks shared by Apron Records founder Steven Julien reveal the shoe’s shaggy terry cloth uppers in teal with matching teal leather overlays. Bumpy Printed swooshes and scaly black leather on the heels add some exotic flair, while the chrome heel counter shines like a disco ball (like the one found on the Apron Records logo).
A special detail is the razorblade lace dubrae, a nod to the tattoo on Steven Julien’s hand and his days as a barber in the 2000s before pursuing music full time. The packaging also features photos from Julien’s childhood, including some taken in his aunt’s salon, where Julien turned the basement into his own barbershop.
The Apron Records x Nike Air 180 is prominently featured in Steven Julien’s new music video for “TIME,” a groovy posse cut featuring Froby Juan, Kristian Hamilton, Jarren, and Benedek.
To celebrate the collaboration, Apron Records is going on a world tour, throwing parties in Tokyo, Seoul, and London. The Seoul stop on March 1st and London stop on March 8th will include pop-ups where fans will be able to cop the 180s in person.
