If you’re a fan of sneaker beef, the rollout for Anthony Edwards’ new signature shoe with adidas has been a blast so far. First there was that commercial where Ant threw shots at the signature shoes of LaMelo Ball, Ja Morant, Luka Doncic, and LeBron James, all athletes partnered with a rival sneaker brand.
Now that the launch of the AE 1’s debut colorway has been announced, Kevin Durant has entered the feud. In a new interview, Edwards was asked who in the league would he like to see wear the AE 1, and his answer was KD. This of course, is a bit of a silly answer, as Durant is a lifetime Nike athlete. KD caught wind and posted this reply: “Won’t EVER see me put a big toe in them Mfers.”
It doesn’t end there, as the official adidas account decided to clap back with “u dusty bouta retire soon anyway.” This was then deleted and replaced with the message “meant to send that from the burner account….” This was a savage double clapback as it pokes fun at the time when Durant was caught using secret burner accounts to defend himself online.

Setting internet beef outside, the debut of the adidas AE 1 is actually quite wholesome. The debut colorway is named “With Love,” and is meant to honor Ant’s mother and grandmother. The shoe comes in peach and pink, their favorite colors.
In terms of tech specs, the AE 1 is equipped with a Generative Support Wing on the upper. This TPU overlay with hexagonal windows provides stability and containment, while also allowing for midfoot breathability. It also features full-length TPU-encased Jet Boost technology on the midsole, which is paired with smaller energy capsules fused together for greater energy return and cushion. Lastly, the enlarged herringbone pattern on the outsole provides superior traction.
