Original Story (12/18/23): Jordan Brand is finally bringing back the Air Jordan 4 “Military Blue” in true OG form. The upcoming retro will drop in 2024 in celebration of the 35th anniversary of its original release.
The Air Jordan 4 “Military Blue” was one of the four original colorways of the Air Jordan 4 that released in 1989 alongside the “White Cement,” “Black Cement” (aka “Bred”), and “Fire Red.” This colorway has already been retro’d a couple times, once in 2006 and then again in 2012, and was even released as a golf shoe in 2021. However, none of these retros featured the “Nike Air” branding on the heels that the original 1989 pair had, opting instead for the Jumpman logo.
The upcoming 2024 retro marks the first time in 35 years that “Nike Air” branding will appear on the “Military Blue” Air Jordan 4. Of course, the rest of the shoe’s design will also be true to the OG, with white leather construction across the uppers, grey suede overlays on the toe caps, and pops of blue throughout.
Grab an early look at the Air Jordan 4 “Military Blue” below. These are currently expected to drop on May 25th via SNKRS and select retailers. As always, stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates.
Update (03/05/24): First looks at the packaging reveal that these come in the OG black and red Jordan 4 box.
Update (03/06/24): Nike officially revealed the Air Jordan 4 “Military Blue” on SNKRS Live today and have announced that the official name for this release is now “Industrial Blue.” Like most sneakerheads, we’ll still be calling them by their OG name.
