2023 saw the release of some great Air Jordan 1 colorways such as the “UNC Toe,” “Satin Bred,” and “Royal Reimagined,” but Jordan Brand might have saved the best for last. Closing out the AJ1 High OG releases for the year is the “Celadon” colorway.
As part of Jordan Brand’s ongoing Craft series, the Air Jordan 1 High OG “Celadon” features construction not typically found on standard releases. While the base of the upper is Pale Ivory leather, the overlays around the toe and ankle area are done in olive premium suede. This is then paired with hits of orange nylon on the ankle collar and Swoosh, the latter featuring contrasting white stitching. Other neat details include exposed foam on the tongue and a vintage tint on the midsole. The combination of olive and orange is reminiscent of one of Jordan Brand’s most coveted sneakers of all time, the 2005 UNDEFEATED x Air Jordan 4, which was inspired by the colors found on MA-1 bomber jackets.
What is a bit odd is that this colorway is being called “Celadon,” when the Celadon hue only appears as an accent on the Wings logo found on the lateral ankle overlay. However, Celadon is listed as the primarily color on the box label. By the way, the shoes come in a matching olive and orange box and come with extra olive laces.
