In addition to the “’98 All-Star” Crazy 8, adidas is also releasing an “’01 All-Star” Crazy 1 that pays homage to Kobe Bryant’s 2001 NBA All-Star Game appearance.
Kobe’s All-Star footwear of choice for that year was his signature Crazy 1 (known back then as simply The KOBE) in the yellow “Sunshine” colorway, which adidas recently retro’d. Now, in celebration of All-Star 2024, adidas is releasing a tweaked version of the Sunshines that features a more saturated gold upper and a black midsole instead of grey. This iteration also features a new star graphic with an “01” in the center, appearing on the insoles and embroidered on the right tongue. Meanwhile, the left tongue features the adidas mountain logo in a white/blue/gold color scheme instead of the standard black logo found on the Sunshines. These embroidered logos appear to be inspired by the logos found on the 2001 NBA All-Star jerseys.
The adidas Crazy 1 “’01 All-Star” is currently available in select regions, though expect an official US release sometime this month on adidas.com and at select retailers. Check out the official images below and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for additional updates.
