17 years ago today, Pimp C tragically passed away in Los Angeles. One half of the legendary UGK, the late rapper defined Southern hip-hop with his unmistakable sound and swagger.
To honor the late great Pimp C, A Ma Maniére is dropping a commemorative capsule with Barriers Worldwide, the NYC-based streetwear brand known for celebrating Black excellence through garments that highlight political heroes, artists, and other prominent figures.
The capsule, comprised of tees and hoodies, pays homage to Pimp C’s life and legacy and celebrates his lasting impact on the city and culture of Houston. The accompanying campaign features Houston hip-hop artists Maxo Kream and Big Jade, alongside Pimp C’s wife, Chinara Butler.
The A Ma Maniére x Barriers Worldwide Pimp C capsule will be available on December 7th and 8th exclusively at A Ma Maniére Houston, located at 3300 Kirby Dr. #6a, Houston, TX 77098. The store will also be hosting an immersive pop-up event on Saturday, December 7th from 2-7pm CST, featuring an installation comprised of memorabilia and personal items from Pimp C’s life.
