Original Story (08/24/21): After dropping a soccer-themed collection with END., adidas and Japanese label Neighborhood continue their long-standing partnership with two new iterations of the Superstar 80s.
Previewed by Neighborhood founder Shinsuke Takizawa, the standout feature of the NBHD Superstar is its unique lacing system. It includes a zipper down the throat with a stitched zig-zag design on each side, which when unzipped reveals the tongue and its co-branded tongue tag. Laces can be configured to run through the leather eyelets as well as underneath the zipper shroud. The shoe comes in two colorways, one in black suede with a bone shell toe and midsole, the other dressed in olive green throughout. Neighborhood branding appears on the lateral side panel, with additional co-branding on the insoles and the leather heel panels.
Check out both colorways of the Neighborhood x adidas Superstar 80s below. Expect these to release soon via neighborhood.jp and select retailers.
