Supreme has teamed up with French fashion house Marithé + François Girbaud on a new collection for Spring 2025.
Founded by designers François Girbaud and Marithé Bachellerie in 1972, Marithé + François Girbaud is renowned for its experimental approach to denim—from pioneering treatments like stone washing and laser engraving, to developing distinctive constructions and fits.
In the late 1990s, the brand introduced its defining Shuttle Jean. Inspired in part by space suit design, the Shuttle combined an oversized, articulated fit with cinchable velcro straps. This distinctive style developed a cult following in the hip-hop community, with Girbaud jeans referenced in various rap lyrics: “You see, I don’t sweat these hoes/I keep them in flavors like Timbos and Girbauds.” — The Notorious B.I.G.
Pieces from Supreme’s collection with Marithé + François Girbaud pay homage to the Shuttle jean, including the Shuttle Tape Leather Cargo Pant, Shuttle Tape Cargo Sweatpant, and Shuttle Tape Zip-Up Hoodie. The Leather Cargo Pants are constructed in collaboration with Alpha Industries and are accompanied by Hooded Leather Flight Bomber Jackets in black and camo, with “Girbaud” branding embossed across the the back in large letters.
Other styles pay homage to the X-pocket construction Marithé and François introduced in 1981. By shifting pockets lower on the body, they developed a refined silhouette that broke radically from traditional American 5-Pocket jeans. The X-Seam Denim Trucker Jacket and X-Seam Baggy Jean are offered in indigo, cream, and black, while the X-Seam Baggy Short also comes in a light wash.
Rounding out the collection are Down Puffer Vests, Hockey Jerseys, and Tees, as well as accessories such as Sport Camp Caps, Beanies, Pokachu Puffer Tote Bags, and Compressed Towels.
