Stone Island and New Balance continue their multi-year partnership with a new footwear collaboration on the MADE in USA 998.
The Stone Island x New Balance 998 marks the first MiUSA release from this partnership and follows up last year’s 991v2 “Ghost Pack.” The design of the shoe draws inspiration from Stone Island’s archival Raso Gommato fabric, a satin-weave cotton of military origin with the application of a polyurethane cover, first introduced by Massimo Osti for SS84 and reimagined for Stone Island’s SS25 collection.
Stone Island reupholstered the 998 with a special material composed of cotton canvas with a rubberized polyurethane coating, creating a contrast between the color of the lamination and the color and satin effect of the cotton. Additional details include silver reflective accents, an aged ABZORB midsole, and icy translucent outsoles. Last but not least, Stone Island gets the badge in on the tongues and insoles.
The Stone Island x New Balance 998 launches March 27th at select Stone Island stores and on the Stone Island website. Online access is available exclusively for logged-in My Stone Island account holders who sign up for the event. Check out the campaign images below.
