In 2019, Nike created a Scarr’s Pizza Air Force 1 for friends and family of the beloved Lower East Side pizza shop, designed by shop owner Scarr Pimentel, team member Audie Villot, and the late great DJ Clark Kent. Dressed primarily in white with NYC-inspired orange and blue accents, only 48 pairs of the shoe are believed to have been made.
A new colorway of the Scarr’s Pizza x Nike Air Force 1 has just been unveiled, spotted on the feet of Scarr Pimentel at the Complex Family Food Fest in New York City. This pair, dubbed the “Scarr’s At Night,” switches out the white for black, while keeping all of the details of the original intact, such as the double-stacked swoosh, the New York flag on the heels, the Scarr’s Pizza embroidery on the lateral heels, and the pizzeria’s phone number stamped on the forefoot. The shop’s address on the tongues has been updated, now reading “35 Orchard” instead of “22 Orchard” (the pizzeria relocated in 2023), and the gum outsole is also darker this time around.
The original Scarr’s Pizza Air Force 1 made headlines in 2021 when a pair sold for a whopping $121,649 at Sotheby’s auction, nearly ten times its estimated maximum sale price. The shoe returned to the news cycle in 2024 with rumors of a Summer 2025 public release, though DJ Clark Kent denied these reports. Perhaps it’s this black colorway that will be releasing—and not the original pair.
