Reebok is making its big return to the hardwood with their new performance basketball shoe, the “Engine A.”
Reebok’s Engine A marks the brand’s first performance basketball shoe in over a decade. CEO Todd Krinsky calls the release of this sneaker a “monumental moment” as the brand reasserts itself on the court and back into basketball culture, aiming to make a bold impact. Drawing inspiration from the Reebok Mobius line from the ’90s, this sneaker offers a modern take on performance footwear with a lightweight exoskeleton upper, a high-abrasion rubber outsole, and patented ERS (Energy Return System) midsole technology.
The Engine A makes its debut in a black and metallic silver colorway with bright red accents on the midsole, tongue, and insole. This is the same colorway worn by Angel Reese when she debuted the new model on court in August of last year.

Angel Reese is not the only athlete to rock the shoe on court. Reebok’s entire basketball roster, Team RBK.B, has played a part in the rollout, including Lexie Brown of the Los Angeles Sparks, Chicago Bulls rookie Matas Buzelis, 5-star draft prospect Nate Ament, and 18-year-old rising star Dink Pate.
Speaking to the Engine A’s performance qualities, Nate Ament comments: “A locked-in fit, great bounce and ample traction for quick moves, plus a look and design like no other. I’m excited to see it on the feet of hoopers of all levels.”
The Reebok Engine A drops February 13th on reebok.com and in select retail stores. Get an official look below and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for more updates.
