Patta & Nike Revisit “Wave” Series on the Air Max 90

Original Story (10/12/24): Patta is running back its popular “Wave” series for a new collaboration on the Nike Air Max 90.

In 2021, the Amsterdam-based streetwear brand kicked off a run of Air Max 1 “Wave” releases, resulting in a total of six colorways dropping over the span of a year. The premium mesh uppers and wavy mudguards from that project are now being applied to another classic Air Max model.

Shared by Patta co-founder Edson Sabajo, our first look at the Patta x Nike Air Max 90 “Wave” reveals a grey mesh and nubuck upper with Sapphire accents that are pretty much identical to the Persian Violet hue of the OG Air Max BW. Additional details include a lenticular Air Max logo that changes from “Air Max” to “Patta,” a metallic silver swoosh, and a wavy black leather mudguard.

The Patta x Nike Air Max 90 “Wave” is expected to release in Summer 2025 via Patta, SNKRS, and select retailers. Grab a first look below and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates.

Update (04/08/25): In addition to the “Persian Violet” (aka “Sapphire”) colorway, a “Cyber” iteration of the Patta x Nike Air Max 90 Wave with bright neon green accents has now surfaced. Both are expected to drop Summer 2025.

Update (05/27/25): Nigerian artist ODUMODUBLVCK rocked the Patta x Nike Air Max 90 Wave “Neon” (aka “Cyber”) and a matching tracksuit during his set at the City Splash Festival in London. Check out the photos below.

Update (05/31/25): The full Patta x Nike Air Max 90 Wave “Sapphire” collection, complete with matching tracksuit.

Update (06/13/25): Patta x Nike “The New Wave” collection drops June 20th on pattaxnike.com, followed by a wider release on June 24th via SNKRS. The apparel offering includes matching tracksuits, co-branded tees, and socks. The collection is presented alongside a music video for the track ‘U Don’t Have These’ by BNYX featuring BXKS. A limited-edition vinyl featuring tracks from the campaign will be available exclusively at Patta chapter stores with the purchase of a tracksuit or Air Max 90s.
