Palace Drops Collab with Jerry Hsu’s Sci-Fi Fantasy

Palace Skateboards is launching its first-ever collaboration with Sci-Fi Fantasy, the Los Angeles-based skate brand founded by skater and photographer Jerry Hsu, bringing its distinctive visual language and tech-inspired aesthetic to Palace’s classic staples.

Influenced by his years with Enjoi and Chocolate, Hsu channels absurdity, digital imagery, and ’90s nostalgia into a vision that blends skate culture with subtle corporate parody. The capsule with Palace showcases Sci-Fi Fantasy’s signature 3D artwork by Jon Baken, alongside recurring themes of urban technology, Chinese typography, and surreal digital minimalism.

The range includes coach jackets in black, navy, and grey, each with “Sci-Fi Palace” chest branding and a custom Tri-Ferg on the back. The collection also features graphic tees, trucker and 6-panel caps, skate decks, and a Tri-Ferg keychain.

“As a fan of Palace since the beginning, I was ecstatic for the opportunity to work together,” says Jerry Hsu. “I wanted to bring in our 3D work, particularly the Asian urban motifs and tech influences we often play with. I love the new Tri logo—it’s my favorite piece in the drop. Sci-Fi Palace and Palace Fantasy? Couldn’t be easier.”

Presented alongside the drop is a dreamy digital short film, featuring references to Wong Kar-wai’s 1995 film Fallen Angels and the iconic Akira slide. There’s also an accompanying lookbook, shot by Jerry Hsu himself.

The Palace x Sci-Fi Fantasy collection releases this Friday, May 30th as part of Palace’s Summer 2025 Week 4 drop, available in-store at Palace locations, on the Palace website, and via Dover Street Market. Check out the lookbook, short video, and full product lineup below.
