Original Story (09/16/24): Though there was no official SNKRS Day celebration this year, Nike does have something special on the way to celebrate the SNKRS community.
A new “Erosion” colorway of the Air Max 95 has surfaced with special SNKRS branding on the box and insoles, signifying that this release will be available exclusively on Nike’s sneaker launch app. The concept behind the design is also communicated: “Nike Air Max 95 as if unearthed by the process of erosion.”
The geological process of erosion is what causes places like the Grand Canyon to have layers of swirling shapes and bright colors. This process now serves as the inspiration for a new Air Max 95, featuring a split design with a purple gradient on the lateral side and a brown gradient on the medial. A topographical map design down the back of the heel adds to the geological theme.
