Original Story (07/22/24): Every metropolitan area in the US has its own unique sneaker culture. This is especially true for the DMV. The Washington D.C./Maryland/Virginia region is known its love of New Balance 990s, being the first to embrace the Nike Goadome boot, and turning the Foamposite into a lifestyle. As D.C. native Wale once said, “Foamposites, if you ain’t got ’em then you penny-loafing!”
Nike is now honoring the DMV with own Air Foamposite One colorway. Inspired by the cherry blossoms in D.C. that bloom every spring, the “DMV” Air Foamposite One features a pearlescent pink upper and DMV branding on the heel pull tabs. These also come with cherry blossom graphics on the insoles.
