New Balance Unveils 991v2 “City Exclusive” Pack

Originally released in 2001, the New Balance 991 was the first 99x model created in New Balance’s factory in Flimby. Love for the Made in UK model has spread globally, embraced by sneakerheads in cities across the world. New Balance is now dropping a 991v2 “City Exclusive” pack, saluting the 991s global influence and sneaker culture hubs in different regions of the world.

This “City Exclusive” pack features five different colorways of the 991v2, the sequel to the 991 that New Balance introduced in 2023. Each comes with a vivid pigskin suede upper paired with black waffle-hole mesh and grey accents. These colorways are exclusive to a specific region of the world and are releasing in partnership with a boutique located in a city in that region.

Kicking things off is the Europe-exclusive green colorway, dropping August 10th at Starcow in Paris. This will be followed by the pink colorway created for Tokyo, releasing exclusively via atmos stores in Japan. The USA pair celebrates the city of Baltimore, releasing exclusively via Social Status on August 17th. The red pair is China-exclusive, created for Shanghai and releasing exclusively through New Balance’s own NB Grey concept store on August 21st. Rounding out the pack is the Asia-Pacific pair, a yellow colorway dropping August 28th via Casestudy in Seoul, South Korea and UP THERE in Melbourne, Australia.

atmos, the exclusive retailer for the pink Japan-exclusive colorway, has announced that their release is limited to 500 pairs. Based on this, it is believed that each colorway will be limited to 500 pairs.

The New Balance 991v2 “City Exclusive” pack will be available at select retailers, dropping throughout the month of August. Check out all five colorways below.
