Mark Gonzales has been on team adidas for nearly 25 years. Gonz and the Three Stripes have collaborated numerous times on skate-centric sneakers, though now they are now reuniting to present a comfy shoe to chill in when not skating. Introducing the Mark Gonzales x adidas Ultraboost “Shmoo.”
Shmoo is a playful ghost character and one of Mark’s most iconic illustrations. It’s been featured on various Gonz x adidas shoes, including last year’s Superstar ADV. Now appearing on the Ultraboost, this upcoming release features a camo-like “Shmoo” design across the grey and teal Primeknit upper. Rounding out the design is a black BOOST midsole, translucent black midfoot cage, black heel counter, and gum rubber outsole.
“It was exciting for me to take on the Ultraboost because people who skate like a comfy shoe when they’re not skating. I loved jumping rope in them,” says Mark Gonzales. “I put a lot of pencil work to create the circular design to get a good balance between the Boost and the art, so that both bases were covered.”
