Louis De Guzman x Sonic The Hedgehog Collection

Chicago-based Filipino-American artist Louis De Guzman has announced the release of an official Sonic The Hedgehog collection created in collaboration with SEGA.

De Guzman infuses his signature “geometric abstraction” style throughout the collection, which highlights Sonic as well as Shadow the Hedgehog, paying homage to the energy and vibrance of both characters.

The range of apparel and accessories includes t-shirts, a work jacket, hoodies, jerseys, kids tops, a tin lunch box, and a printed throw pillow. For the art collectors, the collection also features hyper-limited screen prints ($350) and vinyl sculptures standing at 11.5” tall ($485).

“A visit to the SEGA of America headquarters brought back many core memories from my childhood,” says Louis De Guzman. “Video games played a pivotal role during my youth and helped shape my perspective of imaginary and visual escape. With this collaboration, I was able to reimagine the feeling of excitement and nostalgia that fans experience when they navigate the various levels and challenges that Sonic games provide.”

The Louis De Guzman collection will launch at ComplexCon Las Vegas on November 16-17, followed by a pop-up in Chicago from December 10-17th. Located at 3477 S Archer Ave, the pop-up will feature a gallery of Sonic the Hedgehog-inspired paintings, life size sculptures, a meet-and-greet with the artist, and a chance to play the latest Sonic title, SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS.
