Founded in 2021 by Kartik Kumra, Kartik Research is an artisanal fashion brand based in New Delhi committed to reintroducing humanness back to clothing. Every piece features a handmade element—whether it’s hand embroidery or natural plant-based dyeing—rooted in traditional Indian craftsmanship.
Kartik Research has partnered with Dover Street Market on an exclusive capsule collection, featuring a limited run of hand-embroidered Converse Chuck 70s created for the brand’s SS25 show at Paris Fashion Week. Each pair is adorned with intricate designs by specialist Zardozi artisans, with colorways including black-on-black, white-on-black, and white-on-red.
In addition to the footwear, the DSM-exclusive capsule also features a selection of signature Kartik Research apparel, including a linen hand-embroidered suit, an embroidered chore coat inspired by antique Coromandel quilts, a handwoven shirt with a golden Zari weave, and a pair of black denim pants with patchworked fabrics collected from the brand’s archive.
