Joe Freshgoods Unveils Every Now & Then x New Balance RCVRY

Original Story (06/02/25): Every Now & Then, the Chicago-based retailer owned by Joe Freshgoods, is dropping its own collaboration with New Balance.

In a sitcom-style teaser video shared by EN&T, Joe Freshgoods (aka Mr. Robinson) takes over the offices at New Balance HQ in Boston, where he demands 500 pairs for the grand opening of his new store location. While he doesn’t specify exactly what shoe he’s talking about, he drops hints like “comfort is key,” “I’m cozy,” and mentions how they are “Everydays” for taking the kids to school, taking out the trash, and going to the barbershop.

The shoe in question is the Fresh Foam X RCVRY, New Balance’s clog-like silhouette designed for athlete rest and recovery. It features a foot-hugging, fully injected upper with injection-molded EVA foam midsole cushioning and rubber pods on the outsole for traction. A previous post by JFG gives us a first look at the Every Now and Then Fresh Foam X RCVRY, dressed in the store’s signature green hue.

While the announcement video clearly hints at the Fresh Foam X RCVRY, it also teases a green colorway of the New Balance 992, which JFG first teased in the rollout of his 992 “Aged Well” collab. Could this be another upcoming Every Now & Then x New Balance collab? Stay tuned to find out.

The Every Now & Then x New Balance Fresh Foam X RCVRY “Everydays” will launch at a block party in Chicago on Saturday, June 7th. Information on the new store location has yet to be announced, so stay locked with Modern Notoriety as more details are revealed. In the meantime, check out Every Now & Then’s teaser video below.

Update (06/04/25): Every Now & Then has launched the first campaign for its Fresh Foam X RCVRY collab. The imagery highlights Irene, a seamstress based in Chicago’s Chinatown who has been instrumental to helping brands go from point A to B—from sewing tags to helping with pattern making. Check out the photos below.

Update (06/06/25): The Every Now & Then block party is in partnership with iconic Italian deli J.P. Graziano in celebration of its 88th anniversary. Attendees can purchase a pair of “Everydays,” exclusive merch, and special sandwiches at the event. Leftover RCVRYs and tees will be available Monday, June 9th at noon CT on the Every Now & Then website.
