South Central’s Crenshaw Skate Club has teamed up with Coca-Cola on a special-edition can and apparel capsule inspired by the soft drink brand’s “For The Real Times” campaign from the 1970s.
Unveiled alongside a reimagined “For the Realest Times” campaign, the collaboration pays tribute to the everyday, intergenerational moments that define inner-city life—from front porch storytelling to unfiltered and joyful hangouts with friends. It honors the authenticity and emotional richness of these experiences that preserve the identity and culture of urban communities.
The special edition can comes in Coke’s signature red, adorned with tonal CSC graphics throughout. The accompanying apparel collection includes soccer jerseys, shorts, denim jeans, tees, hoodies, and skate decks.
“While I was designing this collection, my grandpa shared how he once worked as a delivery driver for Coca Cola in the ’70s. I was fascinated by how a product could connect generations,” says Crenshaw Skate Club founder Tobey McIntosh. “Intergenerational learning and connection happens every day in our communities, from conversations with our elders to hangouts at the skatepark with friends. When I came across the ‘For The Real Times’ campaign from my grandpa’s era, it made sense to reinvent it with inspiration from personal moments skateboarding and living in South Central LA. I hope that when people share the cans or wear the clothes, they can spark timeless conversations and build memories across generations with Crenshaw Skate Club.”
The Crenshaw Skate Club x Coca-Cola collection drops May 24th at 11am PT on the CSC website and in person at the CSC x Coca-Cola pop-up in Los Angeles, going down May 24th from 1-5pm at 110 S La Brea Ave. Check out the campaign video and lookbook shots below.
