COMME des GARÇONS and Nike continue their ongoing partnership this season with a collaboration on the Air Max TL 2.5.
Originally released in 2006, the Air Max TL 2.5 is a rather obscure silhouette from Nike’s Total Air Max series that shares some design DNA with the classic Air Max 97. Underfoot is a full-length visible Air cushioning unit (hence the name Total Air), while the uppers feature a familiar wavy design with TPU overlays.
The Air Max TL 2.5 will be making a comeback in the coming months, with Nike releasing various colorways of the model in late 2024 and into 2025. The relaunch kicks off with help from Japanese fashion label Comme des GARÇONS, which brings its signature minimalist black/white aesthetic to the silhouette in three colorways.
First revealed this past January at the COMME des Garçons Homme Plus FW24 runway show, the CDG x Nike Air Max TL 2.5 will be available in white, black, and a white/black mix. COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS branding can be found on the heel panels and insoles, with additional COMME des GARÇONS branding on the outsoles. As a final touch, the year 2024 is printed on the lace loop found on the center of the tongue.
All three colorways of the COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS x Nike Air Max TL 2.5 will be available starting September 21st at Comme des Garçons and Dover Street Market stores worldwide, and on select DSM E-SHOPs. Check them out below.
