One of the most exciting parts of Paris Fashion Week from a pure sneakerhead perspective is seeing what footwear collabs COMME des GARÇONS has in the works. You never know which silhouettes the various sublabels will put their touch on. Will it be a reimagined classic like the Homme Plus Air Foamposite One? Or will we get something brand new, like when Junya Watanabe MAN revealed the 1906L? One thing that is almost certain is that the kicks will come dressed in CDG’s signature monochromatic black-and-white palette—as is the case with the latest collaboration from COMME des GARÇONS HOMME and New Balance.
Sneakily debuted at a Paris Fashion Week showroom in early 2024, the CdGH x New Balance 990v6 comes in two colorways: “Triple Black” and “Triple White.” Each features tight-knit mesh and leather construction and come with COMME des GARÇONS HOMME branding on the tongues and insoles.
While the CdGH collab doesn’t reinvent the MADE in USA 990v6, it does offer two clean, minimalist iterations of a comfortable model that can be rocked with basically anything—and sometimes, that’s all you really need.
The COMME des GARÇONS HOMME x New Balance 990v6 will be available at select retailers in Japan starting Friday, March 21st, followed by a global release at retailers such as Dover Street Market at a later date. Grab a look both colorways below.
