CLOT & Levi’s Reunite For All-Black Denim Collection

Edison Chen’s CLOT is dropping a new collection in collaboration with Levi’s.

The all-black three-piece offering includes a new version of the CLOT x Levi’s UNIONRAIL 501 jeans, the Padded Western Shirt, and the Chinese Button Fastening Hoodie.

In 2006, CLOT and Levi’s teamed up for their first collab, featuring a blue denim pair of UNIONRAIL 501 jeans. Rendered in a baggy “roughneck” style and washed, distressed look, the jeans were created to honor the contributions of Chinese railroad workers who helped build the tracks of America’s first transcontinental railroad in the 19th century.

CLOT and Levi’s are now dropping a reimagined version of the UNIONRAIL 501 in a black color scheme with three paisley stripes on the back of the left leg in a navy and white color scheme. The original 2006 version featured these stripes in a red, green, and black color scheme as a tribute to hip-hop culture inspired by rap group Dead Prez, who used this three-color bandana pattern as album art for 2004’s RBG: Revolutionary But Gangsta.

Meanwhile, the Padded Western Shirt comes in washed black denim and features a classic Chinese button design, highlighting CLOT’s signature “East meets West” design language. Rounding out the collection is the Chinese Button Fastening Hoodie, featuring a heavyweight fleece body, lined hood, and classic Chinese button closure at the neckline.
