Following the release of their beach-inspired Gazelle, Edison Chen’s CLOT and adidas Originals are now introducing the new Superstar Breathe.
A reinterpretation of the iconic shell-toed Superstar, the CLOT Superstar Breathe was designed around the concept of “Breathe In, Breathe Out” and continues the DNA of the “Breathe” series introduced in 2015’s “kzkLOT” project by CLOT and Kazuki Kuraishi.
Uppers are constructed from a mint-colored loose-knit mesh instead of the usual leather, creating a sense of lightness and tranquility. Similar to some of CLOT’s previous designs, the shoe incorporate the concept of balancing yin and yang, with the left and right shoes featuring distinct characteristics. The left shoe represents externality and dynamism and features tonal mint stripes on the side panels outlined with zig-zag stitching, appearing along the standard “SUPERSTAR” branding. The right shoe, on the other hand, symbolizes introspection and inclusiveness and features vibrant fluorescent green stripes beneath the mesh, complemented by the Chinese characters for ‘CLOT’ on the side. Lastly, the shoes come with serrated soles and an antiqued half-shell toe for a unique vintage aesthetic.
