Southern California’s BORN X RAISED has teamed up with Japanese streetwear brand NEIGHBORHOOD for a capsule that unites the cultures of LA and Tokyo.
At the heart of the collection is the Birds of Paradise embroidered souvenir-inspired jacket—a bold reimagining of 1950s post-war Japanese souvenir styles, merging vintage influence with modern streetwear energy.
Continuing the narrative, the peacock-printed sweatsuit draws on the bird’s symbolism in Japanese art, representing beauty and protection. No BORN X RAISED collab is complete without a matching snapback, a true West Coast staple, along with their signature memorial tee.
Starring in the campaign is the legendary Chaz Bojórquez, the Godfather of West Coast Graffiti. Bojórquez is known for his Cholo-style graffiti mixed with the disciplined Asian art form of calligraphy. With a career spanning over 50 years, Chaz has helped change the perception of graffiti writing into a respected and influential art form.
The BORN X RAISED x NEIGHBORHOOD collection drops Friday, February 21st on bornxraised.com (12pm PST) and neighborhood.jp. Those in Los Angeles can cop a day early at a pop-up event at Frontier on Melrose (7960 Melrose Ave), opening February 20th at 8pm. Check out the campaign images below.
