LA-based streetwear brand Born x Raised introduces a new collection paying homage to the beloved Mexican singer-songwriter Juan Gabriel.
Releasing in partnership with the late artist’s estate, the BXR x Juan Gabriel collection bridges the timeless influence of “El Divo de Juárez” with the streets of Los Angeles. Included in the offering is a black stadium jacket with a rose and “Amor Eterno” (Eternal Love) in Old English on the back. This is the name of one JuanGa’s most popular songs, which he wrote as an ode to his late mother, who died in 1974. The rose and “Amor Eterno” also appears on the blue New Era fitted included in the collection.
Elsewhere in the collection, the “Tribute” tee features a large screenprinted photo of a young Juan Gabriel on the front, while the “Memorial” tee and crewneck feature a smaller photo on the back alongside Old English text. Rounding out the collection is the “Exitos” hoodie, which list some of JuanGa’s greatest hits on the back, and a prayer candle.
As a tribute to “Amor Eterno,” the campaign for this drop is dedicated to all the mothers. The photos feature BXR community members and their mothers, shot in front of a BXR x Juan Gabriel mural by local artist Gustavo Zermeño Jr. at Silverlake Lounge. The mural offers a dedicated space for fans to honor JuanGa’s memory — a vibrant tribute that’s set to remain through February 2025.
