The courtroom saga of Nike v. BAPE finally came to an end in April after over a year of litigation. The trademark infringement suit filed by Nike was resolved through a settlement agreement, in which BAPE agreed to discontinue some of its footwear styles and modify the designs of the BAPE STA and SK8 STA.
It appears that BAPE is still allowed to sell the remainder of its existing inventory, as the streetwear brand has announced the release of new SK8 STA colorways with no apparent design modifications.
The latest SK8 STA pack from BAPE includes two collegiate-inspired colorways, one dressed in black and yellow (a familiar Iowa Hawkeyes colorway) and another in navy, white, and red (reminiscent of the Arizona Wildcats). Both are equipped with smooth leather uppers, suede overlays, and a towelled STA logo on the side panel that mimics the look and feel of chenille patches found on varsity jackets.
The BAPE SK8 STA Collegiate Pack will be available on the BAPE website and at BAPE locations worldwide starting June 1st.
There’s no telling how many more colorways are left before the redesign is implemented, so if you’re a fan of the current design, we recommend copping it while you still can. Check out both colorways below.
