Kyrie Irving & ANTA Launch the KAI 1 “Playoffs Energy”

As Kyrie Irving prepares for the NBA Finals against his former team, the Boston Celtics, he and his ANTA fam are launching a special “Playoffs Energy” colorway of the ANTA KAI 1.

Dropping in celebration of the Dallas Mavericks reaching the NBA Finals is a bright yellow colorway of Kyrie Irving’s first signature model with ANTA. Its design draws inspiration from Kyrie’s extraordinary speed and skills on the court, utilizing the concept of ‘Using the Code’ as its guiding light.

Yellow was chosen as the primary color as it is the quickest color for the human eye to recognize. This mirrors Kyrie’s tremendous speed and his ability to execute quick pivots and powerful plays with a light foot. Hieroglyphic-esque codes are found throughout the design, representing Kyrie’s belief in ancestral strength and his “Enlightened Warrior” ethos.

The graphics on the shoe tie back to his Native American roots, endowing him with the capabilities of supernatural strength, agility, focus, and speed. The design also features a shield on the vamp of the sneaker, much like the armor of a warrior headed into battle.

“We’re excited for this next release as the momentum continues to build on and off the court for KAI and the tribe,” says Shaneika Warden, Color Design Director at ANTA. “It’s such an honor to continue creating a product that holds us all to a higher standard while celebrating such a historical journey thus far. It’s important that we continue to deliver premium products with soul, passion, and purpose. That said, we look forward to sharing it with the ever-expanding tribe. Peace and light.”
