Air Jordan 3 “Lucky Shorts” Drops February 2025

A new “Lucky Shorts” colorway of the Air Jordan 3 is set to drop this February.

Did you know MJ was superstitious? This Air Jordan 3 draws inspiration from the tradition Michael Jordan had of wearing his UNC practice shorts underneath his official uniform. Jordan believed these shorts would bring him good luck, so he wore them every game throughout his NBA career. When Jordan came into the league, short shorts were still the style, but MJ wore baggier shorts to conceal his lucky blue shorts, sparking a style revolution in the process.

The “Lucky Shorts” Air Jordan 3 features a white leather upper with light grey suede overlays and UNC blue accents on the heels, eyelets, and midsoles. As a special hidden detail, the insides of the tongues feature a laundry care tag, similar to the tags found on shorts and other pieces of clothing.

This isn’t the first time Jordan Brand has referenced MJ’s lucky shorts in their footwear. In 2023, Jordan Brand dropped the Air Ship “Every Game” pack inspired by the same concept. One pair featured blue accents in reference to the UNC shorts, while the other pair came in red to represent his official Chicago Bulls uniform.
