Air Jordan 12 “Melo” Is Back

1

21 years after its initial release, the Air Jordan 12 “Melo” is making a comeback as part of Jordan Brand’s Summer 2025 lineup.

Originally released in 2004, this Air Jordan 12 colorway was first associated with Michael Jordan’s time at the University of North Carolina, dressed in white leather with UNC blue accents. The shoe quickly became known as the “Melo” colorway, as Carmelo Anthony would rock a PE version of the sneaker during his rookie season with the Denver Nuggets. This PE version replaced the metallic silver lace hooks with gold, and featured “MELO” embroidery on the heels.

The design of the 2025 release stays true to original version that first hit shelves in 2004. This will be the first time that the colorway will be available in men’s sizing since their original release, though Jordan Brand dropped a grade school version with gold lace hooks back in 2016.

The Air Jordan 12 “Melo” drops May 17th on SNKRS and at select retailers in full family sizing. Check out the official images below.
