Original Story (04/21/25): In addition to the Air Jordan 1 High ’85 “Bred” that released back in February, Jordan Brand will also be dropping an SP (Special Project) iteration of the iconic black and red colorway in 2025.

This second release is a continuation of Jordan Brand’s 2025 “Banned” campaign celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Air Jordan 1. While not much is known about the “Bred” SP, this pair is not expected to be a direct re-release of the ’85 Bred that dropped earlier this year. This version is rumored to come with some sort of special features and be even more limited than February’s drop.

Look for this Air Jordan 1 High ’85 SP to drop later this year, likely on SNKRS and at select retailers. Stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for more details as they emerge.

Update (10/17/25): Official images of the Air Jordan 1 High ’85 SP have arrived. From these images, the only noticeable difference between this pair and the one that released earlier this year is the addition of a third set of laces in black with gold accents and metallic gold lace tips. These are expected to drop on October 18th, the date the NBA said Michael Jordan broke the league uniform rules with his red and black shoes. Check out the images below and stay tuned for more.
