adidas’ latest release in the A-ZX series, the ZX 5000 “Vieux Lyon,” pays homage to the Jacquard weave and the city that invented it. The French city of Lyon is the original home of Jacquard and the shoe embodies the quality craftsmanship and innovation associated with it.
The shoe’s upper is a two color custom Jacquard weave. The heel and toe is wrapped in a cool grey and the upper and tongue are a rich purple. Both custom Jacquards sit atop the iconic ZX 5000 midsole that carries a french flag injection mold on the bottom of the heel. The shoe is completed with custom lace jewels, and matching laces and sock liners boasting “La Marque Aux 3 Bandes”, French for the adidas slogan “The Brand With The 3 Stripes.”
