Following the release of his 990v6 project in 2023, Action Bronson is now gearing up to launch BAKLAVA x New Balance Season 2, this time featuring the 1906R silhouette.
The Action Bronson x New Balance 1906R will launch in a “Rosewater” colorway, featuring an off-white translucent mesh upper and hits of pink, berry purple, orange, and blue throughout the design.
According to the Queens native, this colorway is inspired by his love of the women’s colorway. “Women’s aerobics meets Me. I’ve been collecting sneakers for 37 years. If you a true sneaker head you know about coppin the women’s joints,” says Action Bronson.
Action Bronson further explains the inspiration behind the “Rosewater” colorway name:
The launch of the “Rosewater” 1906R is accompanied by a cute short film that stars Action Bronson and his partner Valeria Salazar.
Two other colorways of the Action Bronson x New Balance 1906R have been revealed. A predominately blue colorway dubbed “Medusa Azul” (aka “Man O War” or “Deadly Blue Jellyfish”) also make an appearance in the short film. This one is expected to arrive at a later date. There is also a yellow “Scorpius” colorway that will be more limited than the other two.
The Action Bronson x New Balance 1906R “Rosewater” drops May 31st on Action Bronson’s website, specializinginlife.com. A collab apparel collection will launch alongside the footwear.

Update (07/20/24): Both the “Medusa Azul” and “Rosewater” colorways will receive wider releases following their launch on Action Bronson’s Specializing In Life website. Catch the global release July 12th on NewBalance.com and at select retailers. The “Scorpius” colorway will remain highly limited as a Friends & Family exclusive.
