A Ma Maniére and Jordan Brand are adding a new colorway of the Air Jordan 5 to their growing list of collaborative projects.
After dropping two colorways of the silhouette in 2023’s “Still We Rise” pack, A Ma Maniére is back with a third colorway of the Air Jordan 5 in 2025, arriving on the 35th anniversary of the shoe’s original release in 1990. This “Violet Ore” colorway comes equipped with white leather uppers accented with burgundy accents on the midsoles, lining, and reflective tongues. Premium touches from previous AMM Jordan 5s make their return, including embroidered “23” and “NIKE AIR” on the heels, quilted liners, and the signature “A” monogram on the netting, tongue interiors, and insoles. Even the collar shape and tongue height have been refined for a more elevated look.
As is usually the case with projects from James Whitner’s Whitaker Group, this release is embedded with themes tied to the Black experience. Leaked images of the packaging suggest a connection to Juneteenth, the national holiday commemorating the ending of slavery in the United States. The date “June 19, 2025” is printed on the wrapping paper, alongside a list of six cities: Atlanta, Harlem, Houston, Chicago, London, and D.C.
